BACKGROUND

The Italian government's background on integrity in sport from 2011 to date, with particular reference to policies for preventing and combating corruption and serious crime, includes the following main activities carried out specifically by the Department for Sport, MAECI through the Table for the Coordination of International Anti-Corruption Activities, PNA and FIU.

2014: Seminar under the Italian Presidency of the European Council on the Council of Europe Convention.

2015-2017: AMFF European experimental project with DG HOME funds.

2017 and 2019: The two UNCAC Resolutions on sport and corruption 7/8 2017 (COSP7) and 8/4 2019 (COSP8).

2017: International Conference in Rome "Protected Reporting Systems".

2018: High-Level Workshop "Tackling Corruption in Sport" in Rome.

2019-2022: Participation in Task Force 4 of the international platform IPCAS promoted by IOC, UNODC and OECD

2018-2020: Italian co-chair of Action III of the Kazan Action Plan UNESCO that led to the conception and drafting of the Guidelines for Sport Integrity

2021: High-Level Principles on Sport and Corruption under the Italian G20 Presidency.

2021: Chapter 6 on Sport and Organised Crime in the 2021 UNODC Report on Sport and Corruption.

In 2018 and 2021, two International Conferences on Sport and Society were organised with the support of UNESCO, with two specific sessions on sport and integrity. Here is the link to the 2021 webinar: Detecting and reporting crimes (21st May), Webinar 5.

2021: Side-event within the UNCAC COSP9 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
